Ivermectin Dosage:

Oral consumption with 8 ounces of water on an empty stomach. Doctors prescribe the medicine based on the patient”s age, weight, medical condition, and response to treatment.

Ivermectin Uses: Used in the treatment of parasitic roundworm infections. Ivermectin belongs to a class of drugs known as anthelmintics. It paralyzes and kills parasites like roundworms and reduces the risk of severe life-threatening infections in people with a weak immune system.

Ivermectin Side effects: The Ivermectin may cause headache, dizziness, muscle pain, nausea, or diarrhoea. Onchocerciasis patients may experience joint pain, tender lymph nodes, swelling /redness/pain in the eye, weakness, vision changes, fever, itching, and rash for the first four days of the treatment.

Most of the people under Ivermectin do not experience severe symptoms. If any of the symptoms are severe or persistent, visit your doctor.

See your doctor immediately in case of rare side effects like neck/back pain, swelling of the face, arms, or feet, chest pain, confusion, fast heartbeats, seizures, or loss of consciousness. Seek immediate medical attention if you get any allergic reaction like swelling of the face, tongue, throat, breathing troubles, or severe dizziness.

Precautions: If you are allergic to Ivermectin or have any other allergies, please inform your doctor about it. You may have problems with the Ivermectin treatment if you have infections with parasites like loa loa (possible in people who have traveled or lived in West or Central Africa).

Limit alcohol when you are on medication. Inform your doctor about any other addiction or use of drugs.

Patients with a weak immune system may have to repeat the medication. Consult your doctor for more information.

The medication passes on to breast milk. Ivermectin is not known to have any adverse effects on infants. However, breastfeeding mothers must consult their Doctor before taking the medicine.

Interaction: The effects of Ivermectin may differ when taken with other medications or with other forms of treatment like the Ayurveda or herbal medicines. To help your doctor give you the best treatment, always tell your doctor all about the products you use.

Overdose: If you have overdosed and experience symptoms such as breathlessness or passing out, call emergency. Other symptoms of overdose may include breathing issues, numbness, tingling, trouble breathing, loss of coordination, seizures.

Storage: Store Ivermectin at room temperature below 86 degrees in a dark and dry place. Keep the medicine away from the reach of children and pets.
